Sweet treats

There is nothing better on a hot, summer day than a luscious, chilly, multiple scoop, ice cream cone!    You just need to eat it quickly, so it doesn't melt before you can finish it.   Boy, doesn't this Darcie bear remind you of days gone by, where you could actually get a sweet treat from a traveling vendor.   The large cone that I cut and put foam tape behind to raise it up is a stamp that came from Denami Design, and I have no idea if they're still in business.    I added stickles to give the ice cream some sheen.   I found some "sweet treat" paper to use for my background, added a couple doilies and voila, a cute summertime card.

Love from the beginning

Isn't it terrific when a toddler can bond with a puppy, and have a very best friend from the start!  It's amazing how much a dog will tolerate -- laid on, ears/tail pulled, dressed up in human clothing, well, you get the idea . . . This jean-clad boy is a stamp that Mo Manning has drawn.   I've colored with prismas, and added a few punched hearts, faux stitching and a bone brad, and then along the bottom, a strip of ribbon and a 3-D dog.   Notice the adorable tennis ball background paper - fetching, right - teehee, a little pun there.  Thanks for coming in to view!

Flower mania

These adorable mice from Di's Digi Designs are getting their "sniffs" in of this fantastic array of flowers.   I wanted to make this card easy enough to mail off, so didn't want to bulky-embellish too much, and thus also keep the main focus on the image.  I've colored with prismas, layered, used a corner die cut foliage behind my added flower, and the dots on the corners are candi-dots, which will squish down for mailing purposes.  Thanks for coming in to view my creation.

Enjoying life

This sweet little girl is Avery, from The Paper Nest Dolls.   I adored this image, as she's sitting beside her teddy friend, just enjoying life, or so it seems.   Seeing as she's already sitting on a bench, I wanted to complete the scene.   The sunburst is die cut from glittered cardstock, the clouds, foliage, and grass are also die cuts.  The little butterflies were done with a punch and then I added pearl centers to them.  Of course, it came naturally that I'd have to add flowers to the foliage.   I couldn't help but smile after this card was complete, and I hope it puts a smile on your face, too.

Sweet Stanley

I had so much fun coloring up a previous Stanley bear digital from Crafty Sentiments Designs, that I couldn't resist coloring up this other Stanley bear -- isn't he adorable!  I've tucked a lacy doily behind my image, and the hearts along the bottom were done with a border punch.  The butterflies are a die cut, and I first cut a black base, then put the pink dotted swiss on top, with a couple pink pearls for the bodies.   A border of larger pink pearls along the upper corner and voila, this card is complete and ready to be sent off.   Thanks for coming in to view my creation.

Mmm, watermelon time

This is "Watermelon Avery" from The Paper Nest Dolls -- it just wouldn't be summertime, if you haven't enjoyed cool, refreshing, ripe watermelon.  I always try to pick the largest one, and then cut it up into bowls to chill in the frig.   I've colored Avery with prismas and then framed her in oval die cuts.  The foliage is also a die cut, which I've added flowers to.  A couple pearls at the upper corner, a couple butterflies, and a length of watermelon ribbon that coordinated beautifully with my theme - don't you just love when you can locate matching stash on hand !!

all American . . .

This is an adorable bear digital by Bugaboo, and with his jeans and cap on, he appears to be a typical American boy, so I went with our patriotic flag colors of red, white and blue.   A simple design, and these cards are the same, except for twisting the background paper a bit differently on one to create a different "look".  I do believe he looks as if he'd like to play baseball, or at least, catch balls with someone.
